Job overview

Here at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Cheshire we are working on a £multi million project to build a new health & care neighbourhood under the government's New Hospital Programme. Part of the programme involves the development and implementation of digital and smart buildings technologies, which will transform how we work and, enhance our patients' experience here at Leighton. We are seeking a Band 6 Digital (Smart Buildings) project manager to join our growing digital team.

Main duties of the job

This role is centred on delivering digital capabilities for the Healthier Futures programme, with a strong emphasis on Smart and Intelligent Hospital buildings. The post holder will contribute to the Digital Workstream by developing and implementing key components such as data standards, Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital twins, Building Management Systems (BMS), and Energy Management systems. A critical responsibility is ensuring that data generated across Smart building platforms is fully owned by Mid Cheshire Hospitals and remains interoperable with external systems.

In addition to technical delivery, the role supports the development of strategies for Smart building integration, focusing on system interoperability, data control and ownership, and cybersecurity. The post holder will also contribute to procurement and commercial decisions related to digital technologies, playing a vital role in shaping the Outline Business Case (OBC) and Full Business Case (FBC) for the programme. Collaboration with Senior Project Managers and various stakeholders across estates, facilities, and digital teams is essential.

The successful candidate will bring experience in digital and data services within NHS estates or capital functions, along with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of operational estates and clinical systems.
