Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership with oversight of product development, assessment innovation, and regulatory compliance across multiple regulatory frameworks, including Ofqual and QAA.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver a commercially sustainable, digitally confident, and values-led portfolio.
- Conduct a full portfolio review and drive innovation in qualification and assessment design aligned with national skills policy.
- Balance strategic ambition with operational rigour while fostering inclusive, high-performing teams and serving as a trusted, influential voice in technical and vocational education.
- Partner with regulators, industry stakeholders, and education providers to build trusted relationships and ensure compliance and quality across the Group’s federated awarding organisations.
Who we are looking for
- Experienced, forward-thinking leader with deep expertise in vocational and technical education, qualification development, assessment strategy, and regulatory compliance (Ofqual, and ideally QAA).
- Commercial acumen, political awareness, and digital fluency; able to embed emerging technologies in product and assessment design to enhance learner outcomes and market relevance.
- Strong ambassadorial skills to engage regulators, industry partners, and education providers, with a collaborative, inclusive leadership style.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and lead transformation programmes aligned with strategic priorities.
About the role
This is a strategic leadership role reporting to the Chief Executive. You will work with senior leaders to shape the Group’s portfolio and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple frameworks while creating a sustainable, high-quality offer for the FE and Skills sector.
