Position Overview

As the Sales Operations Director, you will lead the optimization of sales processes, infrastructure, and performance within your assigned region to accelerate growth and enable commercial excellence. This role involves developing and implementing strategic sales plans, managing sales operations, and ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team. With a strong focus on cross-functional collaboration across marketing, analytics, and other departments, you will align efforts to drive performance and achieve sales targets.

Responsibilities

Drive Sales Performance
Develop strategic plans to optimize sales performance, ensuring alignment with business goals and KPIs
Manage and refine incentive compensation strategies to ensure they motivate and reward sales teams effectively
Work closely with sales leadership to ensure sales deployment strategies are optimized for market needs
Lead Sales Operations
Lead and inspire a diverse team responsible for incentive compensation (IC), sales deployment, and field analytics (plus sampling for the US role)
Build a culture of accountability, growth, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring team members are empowered and supported in their roles
Oversee the hiring, development, and performance management of the sales operations team
Localize Data & Analytics
Collaborate with commercial analytics and global data teams to tailor data infrastructure for regional requirements
Guide the generation of actionable sales insights that directly inform business decisions and improve sales strategies
Own the delivery of key metrics, ensuring consistency in data definitions, accuracy, and relevance to market dynamics
Deliver Scalable Excellence
Create and refine repeatable, scalable processes that support long-term sales growth and operational efficiency
Invest in and optimize sales performance management (SPM) platforms, ensuring controls are in place for effective regional customization
Promote a continuous improvement mindset across the organization, focusing on enhancing reporting systems and tools for better performance tracking
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Best Practice Sharing
Lead the sharing of sales operations insights and best practices globally, driving adoption of successful strategies across regions
Ensure a proactive approach to adopting new tools, techniques, and insights that help teams stay ahead of market trends
Collaborate with marketing, finance, and operations teams to align on data and performance goals, ensuring consistency across the board

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in business, data science, statistics, economics, or related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred
Demonstrated experience leading and scaling sales operations functions
Experience harnessing data-driven insights to shape regional go-to-market strategies, ideally within med tech, healthcare, or life sciences sectors
Proven track record of delivering regional objectives by navigating complex, cross-functional, and geographically distributed teams
Experience aligning stakeholders from sales, marketing, finance, and product toward unified business outcomes

Skills and Competencies
Proven capacity to set strategic direction for the sales operations function by translating complex analytics and market intelligence into cohesive, enterprise-wide growth roadmaps
Demonstrated expertise in driving a culture of strategic operational excellence—leveraging agile frameworks, emerging technologies, and governance models to continuously optimize sales operations against evolving market imperatives
Proven ability to lead and scale the design incentive compensation architectures and field enablement strategies
Proven leadership ability to manage, coach, and develop high-performing teams in a dynamic environment
Demonstrated expertise in architecting and overseeing scalable, technology-enabled processes and governance frameworks
Proven capacity to influence executive stakeholders and forge high-impact, cross-functional alliances
Demonstrated expertise in strategic workforce and resource planning—developing succession plans, capacity models, and coverage frameworks that guarantee continuity and peak performance across all critical sales operations initiatives.

Physical Requirements

Location: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements and requires on-site work from Insulet's London office at least three (3) days per week.
