Overview
Disability Assessor – (L4) role at PFAS (Personal Functional Assessment Services). We are seeking Nurses, Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists who want to make a real difference in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment. PFAS supports over 36,000 people each year and is a leading provider of functional assessments. We deliver high-quality, attentive care with a vision of providing the right care, first time, every time.
After completing our unique training programme, you’ll use your healthcare skills to assess people applying for PIP or WCA benefits and write complete, clear, fair, and accurate reports as part of the Department for Work and Pensions’ Health Assessment and Advisory Service (HAAS). The role offers a new career direction while continuing to use clinical knowledge and developing registration, skills, and knowledge. The position follows a structured Monday to Friday schedule.

Responsibilities
- As a Disability Assessor, interview claimants to understand the challenges they face.
- Conduct thorough assessments and examinations via telephone, video call, or face-to-face to assess functional impact on daily activities in a respectful, non-biased manner.
Salary and Job Details
- Salary: £43,450
- Type: Permanent (Hybrid)
- Full time: 37.5 hours (9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday)
Core Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 months of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional (Nurses, Physiotherapists, or Occupational Therapists)
- Demonstrated broad clinical knowledge
- Experience with computer software including Microsoft Office
Essential Qualifications
- Nurses: Qualified Nurse RGN, or RMN/RNLD; Member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN)
- Physiotherapists/OTs: Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or qualified Occupational Therapist; HCPC registered; MCSP or COT
Experience We Look For
- Minimum 12 months HCPC or NMC experience
- Orthopaedic experience (acute and elective); Pre‑assessment experience (surgical/orthopaedic)
- Experience with patients with both mental health and physical problems; neurological settings
- Broad range of clinical experience across different areas; ITU experience
