Lawyer (Children & Families Legal Service) 3 hours ago – Be among the first 25 applicants. Working Hours: 35 hours per week, with flexible and agile working. Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent. Closing Date: 11.59pm, 30 November 2025. Interview method: In person. We are looking for a dynamic qualified solicitor, barrister or Chartered Lawyer or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives to join our Children & Families Legal Team as a Disclosure Lawyer. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join one of our legal disclosure teams. Key responsibilities:
Provide legal advice to children’s services with an understanding of all statutory functions, focusing on third‑party disclosure of social care records to support criminal investigations and prosecution of serious offences against children. Manage a diverse caseload of legal disclosure related matters, including third‑party disclosure of material to Family Courts, Tribunals and other regulatory bodies. Advocate before the Court and Tribunals on our own matters and support other lawyers and legal officers within the team. Represent the local authority at regular meetings with key stakeholders such as the police and Crown Prosecution Service. Represent the local authority at court hearings and tribunals.
Qualifications:
References: 2 references, where possible, we require a 3‑year history. Qualification and registration: Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Fellow with an Advocacy Certificate for civil, criminal or family law. DBS clearance: Applicants must obtain a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service check as per the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
Additional requirements:
Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft legal documentation. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing own case load. Right to work in the UK and willingness to meet pre‑employment checks such as DBS, references, and qualification verification.
