Job Description

The role of a Disclosure Officer is vital for enabling the Environment Agency to conduct thorough investigations into criminal activities related to environmental offences, aligning with our goal to protect and enhance the environment.

As a Disclosure Officer, you will be part of the national team within the National Environmental Crime Unit, handling serious environmental crime cases and water investigations in compliance with legislation such as the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996.

You will serve as the principal disclosure officer on specific cases, collaborating with investigation teams and legal services, requiring strong relationship-building skills across various stakeholders.

You will also provide advice on disclosure practices for less complex investigations and handle evidence in accordance with relevant laws.

The disclosure team manages material from major investigations into environmental offences, including waste and water-related crimes, ensuring legal compliance and promoting best practices.

A full UK driving license is beneficial but not essential.
