The Consultant Role
Our Consultants play a key role in helping clients make clear, evidence-based decisions that shape policy, markets and strategy. You’ll use your analytical skills and economic expertise to turn data into meaningful insights and deliver work that has real impact. You will design frameworks, interpret results, and contribute fresh ideas that address clients’ needs.
As a Consultant, you’ll take ownership of significant workstreams, manage tasks effectively, and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients. You’ll also support the growth of others by sharing your knowledge and providing constructive feedback.
How You Will Make An Impact
Join our team of collaborative and talented economists who enjoy tackling complex economic questions. You will play an important role in delivering high-quality economic analysis and advice to our clients. You can expect to do the following:
Analysis and Problem Solving
- Design and deliver clear analytical approaches for a variety of projects, applying economic theory to practical challenges.
- Develop frameworks for both straightforward and complex issues with minimal senior input.
- Review and integrate contributions from team members, ensuring quality and consistency in final outputs.
- Coach and mentor colleagues, sharing advanced techniques and delegating tasks appropriately.
- Lead client meetings, listen actively and respond thoughtfully to different perspectives.
- Structure, review and refine reports and presentations to a high standard.
- Provide feedback and guidance to help colleagues improve their writing and presentation skills.
- Identify and resolve communication issues within the team and with clients.
- Scope and lead major workstreams, ensuring projects run to time, budget and agreed objectives.
- Manage project scope, deliverables and budgets alongside clients, with support from project managers where needed.
- Delegate tasks clearly and oversee colleagues’ work, keeping everyone informed and motivated.
- Seek feedback and use it to strengthen both your own work and the team’s.
- Build and maintain relationships that go beyond individual projects, keeping in touch with clients and wider networks.
- Spot opportunities for further work and cross-team collaboration, and help take these forward.
- Gather formal and informal feedback on projects and use it to add value.
- Ensure clients get the maximum benefit from our work by understanding how they plan to use it.
We’re looking for economists who combine strong technical skills with clear communication and sound judgement. You’ll have the expertise to tackle complex economic questions, the confidence to influence clients and colleagues, and the drive to deliver high-quality work on time. You’ll also be a team player who supports and motivates others, helping us deliver practical insights and real impact for our clients.
Essential Skills And Experience

- Strong data skills, with the ability to interrogate information and generate useful insights.
At Frontier Economics, we are entirely employee-owned, meaning every team member has a voice in shaping the company’s future.
