Role Description

This full‑time Education Solicitor role is based on a hybrid capacity from our Nottingham office or on a remote basis.

The successful candidate will handle a diverse range of educational law matters, including advising and representing clients in disputes, appeals, and disciplinary cases related to education law. Key responsibilities include providing expert legal advice to clients, preparing legal documents, managing tribunals or court proceedings, and working collaboratively with colleagues to develop case strategies. The role requires strong communication with clients to deliver tailored, honest, and effective legal solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide good quality legal advice to clients of the firm.
  • To conduct and manage own files and caseload.
  • To work as part of a team with the Partners, Solicitors, Legal Assistants and support staff as and when appropriate.
  • To keep fully up-to-date with the relevant areas of law and practice.
  • To keep fully up to date and comply with the solicitors rules of conduct.
  • To attend external and internal training courses as appropriate.
  • To adhere to the administrative procedures set out in the office manual and any other procedures which may be periodically introduced.
  • To attend marketing and networking events as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years PQE
  • Experience within a Private Practice preferred but would consider Local Authority background
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Education Law, ideally including handling appeals, disciplinary issues, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Legal Research, Legal Writing, and Document Drafting to prepare comprehensive legal advice and case documentation.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Problem‑Solving and Analytical Skills to resolve complex cases effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a diverse caseload, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
