JOB DESCRIPTION

This post offers the opportunity to join a dynamic Educational Psychology Service whose vision is of ‘equity, excellence and empowerment through psychology’. We have a passionate commitment to applying psychological research to improve the educational outcomes of all children and young people, especially those who are vulnerable.

As a service, we focus on early intervention and prevention, reducing the poverty-related attainment gap, and developing nurture approaches across sectors including early years, primary, secondary, and specialist educational provisions. We are committed to enhancing the lives of children who are care experienced. The Service encourages and supports innovative and creative practices. Educational psychologists work across all levels within the local authority, from direct work with young people and families (0-25 years old) to capacity building with staff and strategic development and implementation.

REQUIREMENTS

This position involves regulated work with children as per the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. This position is temporary until 30/06/2026.

The grade is Educational Psychologist.

The work style is Hybrid Worker, requiring flexibility between home and office based on service needs.
