We are currently looking for an EducationalPsychologist to join our team. We welcome applications fromqualified Educational Psychologists who are registered with theHealth & Care Professions Council, as well as those fromTrainee Educational Psychologists who are due to qualify inSeptember 2026.

The Educational Psychology Team worksclosely with colleagues across the inclusion service. The mostrecent Estyn inspection noted that "The authority has awell-established, passionate inclusion team who are highlyknowledgeable and committed to improving provision and outcomesfor pupils with ALN." There are therefore high expectationsregarding our service delivery by the senior management team inEducation, Leisure and Lifelong Services.

As an Educational Psychologist you willapply psychological knowledge of child development, learning andbehaviour to promote the positive development of children, youngpeople, families and organizations. The Educational PsychologyService promotes partnership with others and also assists the LAin carrying out its statutory responsibilities to these people.The Service also contributes to achieving the strategicpriorities. The Service provides valuable contributions to theearly intervention, (preventative), multi-agency, parentalsupport, school improvement and learning community roles.

Your daily routine you will contribute tothe LA in a strategic role by supporting the PrincipalEducational Psychologist in ensuring that the Service contributesto the Corporate Aims and values of Neath Port Talbot CountyBorough Council. Duties include:

To help the LA fulfil its statutory dutiesin relation to the Additional Learning Needs Code for Wales(2021) and ALNET Act (2018).

To provide direct support to a number ofschools/children/young people/families through a genericcaseload, promoting early identification and intervention.

To promote inclusion, school improvementand develop school capacity.

To work collaboratively with other agenciesand partners, both statutory and non-statutory, to ensure thebest outcomes for all.

To support children and young people'slearning and development by working, where appropriate, withgroups of children addressing more generic and systemicissues.

Your workstyle will be a mobile hybridworker in this role which gives you the flexibility to work fromhome and from a variety of Council workplaces.
