Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as technical lead on multidisciplinary projects, ensuring quality and compliance with UK standards

  • Conducting daytime and night‑time site surveys to inform design decisions
  • Producing technical reports, specifications and contract documentation
  • Supporting Environmental Impact Assessments, Economic Assessments and Business Case development
  • Managing programme timelines and monitoring costs to ensure efficient delivery
  • Collaborating with clients, electricity suppliers, contractors, sub‑consultants and internal teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Contributing to the development of sustainable infrastructure, including EV charging, airport ground lighting (AGL), rail platforms and street lighting systems

This is a chance to make a tangible impact on the future of transportation infrastructure while growing your technical leadership and client‑facing skills.

Here’s what you’ll need

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a combination of technical expertise, communication skills and collaborative spirit. Specifically, we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience designing to British electrical and lighting standards, including BS5489, BSEN 13201 and BS7671
  • Familiarity with lighting and electrical requirements for trunk roads, local roads and transport hubs
  • Proficiency in lighting design and electrical calculation software (e.g. Lighting Reality, DIALux, Amtech)
  • Excellent technical report writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and build trust with clients, stakeholders and local authorities
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment and managing interfaces with other design teams
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement
