What you will do

Join our Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering Graduate Programme and contribute to UK engineering projects. You’ll support work across the engineering lifecycle—from technology innovation and concept design to production, commissioning, in-service support, and decommissioning. Projects may include submarine design, vehicle conversion, ship refurbishment, nuclear power plant developments, or advancements to rail networks. You’ll apply engineering knowledge to meaningful projects, collaborating with experienced professionals to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.

Programme structure

  • Over two years, rotate through placements every three to six months to explore projects and teams.
  • Rotations may occur at different locations to broaden experience and build a professional network.
  • Develop a strong foundation in electrical, control and instrumentation engineering while taking on increasing responsibilities, such as leading small teams and overseeing projects.
  • Align placements with your interests and career goals for relevant experience.

What you need to apply

  • Degrees in Electrical Engineering, Control and Instrumentation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Aerospace, Avionics, or Software. Preference for degree accreditation by the relevant institution.

Where will you be based

Places on the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering graduate programme for Autumn 2026 are available in Cavendish Nuclear. Placements across multiple sites in the UK are possible, including Warrington, Bristol, Leicester, Glasgow, Hinkley Point C (Somerset) or Sizewell (Suffolk). Agile on-site work is expected several days per week, with possible relocation to align with placements and personal circumstances.
