An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical & Electrical Estimator to join a growing pre-construction team within the low-carbon energy and district heating sector. This role will report to the Head of Estimating and is ideally suited to an experienced professional looking to contribute to innovative projects across the UK.

  • Source and liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and delivery partners in collaboration with procurement
  • Collate pricing into clear, client-ready formats
  • Raise and resolve queries with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Present costings for review and approval by senior colleagues
  • Attend site visits or client meetings (where necessary) to gain project clarity and answer bid-related queries

Candidate Requirements

  • 3–4 years’ experience in project pricing, estimation, or quantity surveying
  • Previous experience within the Mechanical & Electrical sector is essential. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS.
  • Proven track record of pricing and winning work, developing achievable budgets
  • Strong IT proficiency (Office, SharePoint, Teams) with advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Xlookup, Sumifs, Goal Seek, formulae)
  • Ability to read and interpret scopes, specifications, drawings, and schematics
  • Strong written, verbal, and in-person communication skills with clients, engineers, and contractors
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Organised, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-growing business environment
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, estimating, or quantity surveying
  • Knowledge of district heating systems, heat pump technologies (ASHP, WSHP, GSHP), or decarbonisation projects
  • Familiarity with BIM, CDM regulations, and environmental/social considerations in pricing
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Trimble, or Procore software
