About the Firm

My client is a prestigious, highly respected law firm with a strong presence in Leeds and a proven track record in personal injury and employer’s liability law. Known for excellence, they pride themselves on delivering outstanding legal services to clients and providing a supportive environment for their team.

They are now looking to appoint a talented EL/PL Manager (Solicitor / Legal Executive / Associate) to take on a leadership role within their expanding department.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced EL/PL Lawyer to step into a managerial position, supporting both the technical and commercial growth of the team. Alongside managing a varied and challenging caseload of employer’s and public liability claims, you will play a key role in developing colleagues, driving performance, and shaping the department’s future direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of EL/PL claims from instruction through to settlement or trial.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and supervision to junior fee earners.
  • Contribute to the commercial strategy of the department, driving efficiency and growth.
  • Support with business development initiatives and client relationship management.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings and witness statements.
  • Negotiate settlements effectively and represent clients at hearings when required.
  • Keep up to date with legislative and procedural developments in PI law.

About You

  • Qualified or non-qualified lawyer with 3+ years’ experience in personal injury litigation (ideally claimant EL/PL, though defendant experience will be considered).
  • Strong technical knowledge of relevant legislation and case law.
  • Previous experience mentoring or supervising colleagues preferable, with the ambition to grow and manage a team.
  • Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to contribute to the firm’s growth strategy.
  • Highly organised with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional client service while supporting team development.
