The Role
Oakleaf Partnership are working with a highly reputable global Management Consultancy. We are seeking an experienced interim Employee Relations Consultant to join a dynamic, commercially-focused organisation during an exciting period of transformation. You will play a pivotal role in advising and supporting complex organisational change programmes, including restructures, M&A, divestments, TUPE transfers, and other change initiatives.
You will also manage complex ER cases such as disciplinary, grievance, appeals, investigations, and high-risk terminations, ensuring compliance with employment legislation. Acting as a trusted advisor to HR and business stakeholders, you will deliver practical, strategic guidance and support across all areas of ER. Reporting to a Senior Manager, this is a hands-on role with broad exposure across a fast-paced, multi-site business.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain trusted ER expertise across the organisation.
- Advise on organisational change and create solutions to help deliver transformation programmes successfully.
- Identify risks and challenges to change, developing mitigation plans.
- Lead HR project plans, including due diligence and consultation processes, aligned with business implementation.
- Provide expert ER guidance on complex cases and transformation initiatives.
- Balance legal requirements, business needs, and employee experience in change programmes.
- Draft correspondence, attend formal meetings, and provide legally sound recommendations.
- Support high-level exits, settlement agreements, and liaise with external legal advisors.
- Ensure lessons learned and recommendations from cases are implemented and monitored across the business.
Your Experience
- You will have extensive Employee Relations experience within Professional Services, Financial Services or a large Commercial organisation
- Extensive experience managing end-to-end complex ER cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, TUPE, tribunals, and settlements.
- Proven experience in organisational change programmes and business transformation.
- Trusted advisor with strong stakeholder management skills at senior levels.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law, ER policies, and best practice.
- Ability to deliver structured recommendations and solutions for organisational change.
- Experience engaging with employee representatives and trade unions.
- Excellent problem-solving, influencing, and consultative skills.
- Comfortable working independently and managing ambiguity.
- Experience with HR systems (e.g., ServiceNow) is desirable but not essential.
Why This Role
This is an excellent opportunity to have a tangible impact on an organisation’s transformation while operating in a supportive, collaborative environment. You will work on high-profile projects, shaping culture and ER practices, and gaining exposure to complex and challenging HR issues.
