This is a critical role in our People Services team. You’ll be at the heart of delivering a people-first, compliant and efficient HR service across the Ardonagh Specialty business. Reporting directly to me, the Head of People Services, you’ll play a key role in supporting colleagues throughout the employee lifecycle, especially when it comes to employee relations, policy implementation and regulatory compliance.
You’ll collaborate with a brilliant mix of stakeholders across the business and the wider People & Culture team. Key Responsibilities
- Provide balanced, informed and expert HR advice to managers on policies, employee relations and performance management.
- Manage complex ER cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and performance improvement plans.
- Conduct fair and objective investigations and recommend appropriate outcomes.
- Support TUPE processes, redundancies, and organisational change initiatives.
- Collaborate with managers to ensure HR practices align with policy and best practice.
- Assist the Heads of HR and Business Partners with casework and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and implement HR policies in line with legal and regulatory standards.
- Monitor employee engagement and analyse HR data to inform improvements.
- Deliver training and coaching to managers on HR practices and employee relations.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure data integrity in HR systems.
- Liaise with third-party providers (e.g., payroll) to ensure accurate processing.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.
- Assist in producing monthly HR metrics report.
- Work collaboratively across the People & Culture function and Group HR.
- Proven experience in a similar advisory role with strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations.
- Skilled in conflict resolution, mediation, and handling sensitive matters confidentially.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, inclusive approach.
- Experience in regulated environments; Financial or Professional Services preferred.
- Commercial awareness and sound business acumen.
- Working knowledge of core HR functions (L&D, Reward, Operations).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- CIPD Associate membership or actively working towards qualification.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines using initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident in influencing and constructively challenging stakeholders.
- Professional, credible, and responsive in approach.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.
- Detail-oriented facilitator and someone who is happy to get stuck in and be a hand on advisor.
- Confident in navigating complex interpersonal dynamics.
- Builds strong relationships with managers and HR colleagues across the business.

Interview Process
At Ardonagh Specialty, we have a straightforward interview process to ensure the best fit for both you and the company:
- Submit your application with your CV, emphasising your skills and experience related to the job.
- Our Talent Acquisition team will then arrange a call where they can tell you more about the role and the team. We want to learn about your motivation and goals, what you can bring to Ardonagh Specialty, and answer any immediate questions.
- If successful, you will generally be invited to engage in a 1-hour interview with the Hiring Manager and selected team members, via teams or in person. We will discuss our technologies, key skills, and team dynamics and provide further opportunity to ask any questions. This is your chance to voice your thoughts on the role and we will outline our expectations and ensure this role aligns with your ambitions for the future.
- Depending on the role, you may be invited to attend a second stage interview with further members of the team.
