Employment Senior Practice Development Lawyer (PDL) – 8+ years PQE.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with lawyers and directly with clients to deliver cutting‑edge know‑how, training and legal products.
• Shape and deliver strategic knowledge initiatives that make a real difference to clients and the practice.
• Innovate, lead and influence how we deliver value to clients.
• Contribute to the close‑knit PDL community across the firm.
• Lead the tracking, creation and dissemination of technical and commercial intelligence to clients and lawyers.
• Identify and shape innovative practices, products and resources to enhance client service and internal efficiency.
• Own and deliver strategic knowledge and client initiatives, working in partnership with client teams and lawyers.
• Collaborate with Advanced Delivery teams to enhance legal service delivery through people‑process‑technology integration.
• Champion innovation in legal practice, leading the development and implementation of new products, resources and service models.
• Design and deliver high‑value training programmes for internal lawyers and external clients.
• Build and deepen client relationships through strategic engagement, including collaboration on client policies, horizon scanning, training, briefings and thought leadership.
• Maintain and oversee the production and preservation of precedents, standard forms, practice notes and knowledge materials.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of UK employment law.
• Strong client‑facing experience across a range of employment law matters.
• 8+ years’ experience as an employment lawyer in a UK firm.
• Self‑motivated, organised and commercially astute.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.

Relevant Experience

• Previous experience working as an employment lawyer in a UK law firm, ideally for at least eight years.
• Client facing experience in a range of employment law areas.
• No previous PDL experience required.
