About Us
It is an exciting time to join Lambeth Council. We have bold ambitions for the future of Lambeth’s communities and residents through our Lambeth 2030 Plan “Our Future, Our Lambeth.” To deliver on these ambitions, we are delivering the One Lambeth Programme to ensure we are “connected by purpose” in everything we do to deliver excellence. We have refreshed our One Lambeth Values and Behaviours: Equity, Ambition, Kindness, and Accountability.
Team and Programme
The Skills and Employment team supports Lambeth residents with employment, delivering the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model and the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) approach as part of the Connect to Work programme funded by the Department for Work and Pensions. The role works with NHS settings, mental health professionals, adult social care, and local employers to help participants move into meaningful employment and to contribute to programme fidelity, data reporting, and service improvement.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised, evidence-based support to a caseload of participants to secure competitive employment
- Work with NHS settings, mental health professionals, and local employers to transform lives through work
- Contribute to fidelity reviews, data reporting, and service improvement across the programme
- Support and deliver in a target-driven environment and engage with employers to promote inclusive recruitment
- Provide in-work support and maintain high-quality, person-centred services
Qualifications and Experience
- A track record in delivering in a target-driven environment; experience with IPS or SEQF is desirable but not essential
- An understanding of barriers faced by people with disabilities or long-term health conditions and how employment supports recovery
- Experience managing a caseload, building trusting relationships, and delivering person-centred support
- Confidence engaging employers and providing in-work support
