This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the beginning of their HR career to work closely with experienced ER professionals, gaining hands-on exposure to a broad spectrum of employee relations matters while learning best practices. The role offers a unique chance to build core HR skills and contribute to meaningful work that supports our people and culture.

It’s an exciting time to join the Employee Relations team given the changing landscape of employment legislation, ensuring compliance and supporting proactive HR practices. You’ll be involved in case management, policy interpretation, wellbeing initiatives, and data reporting—developing your confidence and capability within a dynamic and evolving business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management Support: Assist in supporting management with low to moderate complexity ER cases including grievances, disciplinary matters, performance concerns, and capability reviews. Ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up in line with company policy.
  • Proactive Relationship Management: Conduct exit interviews and collate feedback to identify trends and inform retention strategies. Support management check-ins and maintain regular updates with HR Business Partners to ensure alignment on case progression and workforce planning.
  • Policy Review & Application: Apply HR policies and procedures consistently, escalating breaches where necessary. Support managers in interpreting and implementing policies such as disciplinary, capability, and grievance procedures. Ensure all policies and supporting documentation are aligned with the current legislation and Quilter values.
  • Meeting Coordination and Note-Taking: Attend formal ER meetings as a note-taker or support advisor to management, ensuring accurate records are maintained and shared appropriately.
  • Training and Development: Support the delivery of ER-related training to line managers.
  • Wellbeing and Risk Assessment: Contribute to stress and wellbeing risk assessments and support initiatives that promote a healthy workplace culture.
  • Data and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of ER cases and contribute to people reporting for business planning and risk monitoring.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in team reviews and feedback sessions to improve ER processes. Stay updated on employment law and best practices.
  • AI Utilisation: Utilise CoPilot to enhance ER operations, streamline case management and support data driven decision making.

Consumer Duty

Whilst this isn’t a directly customer facing role, the duties you will perform will contribute to the overall positive outcomes for our customers.

About You

  • Ideally you will be starting your career in HR, and will ideally be able to show some internship or work experience within this area to support your interest.
  • You must have a curious and inquisitive mindset to question and investigate information
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to challenge, be proactive and think commercially
  • Basic understanding of UK employment law and HR policies
  • Experience in HR or ER support roles preferred/ HR related qualification desirable but not essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
