The opportunity is to support customers in a daily-changing energy market and help them understand supply and demand, assist with renewals, and deliver value in a challenging and rewarding role in energy sales.
What exactly will you do?
As an Energy Sales Consultant, you will engage in the following activities:
- Cold calling potential clients and explaining the benefits of using Northern Gas and Power’s services and solutions. This is a B2B role (Business to Business).
- Question current procurement strategy, determine the customer’s purchasing approach, and identify ways to improve it.
- Tender preparations and supplier negotiations. After generating a lead, work with the closer to prepare tenders for a panel of 87 international energy suppliers and negotiate the best procurement contract for clients.
- Manage client relationships as the single point of contact, monitoring your portfolio and pipeline for renewals or further opportunities.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
You will receive a thorough onboarding process with full industry and sales training to onboard your first client. Thereafter, you will develop and manage your own client portfolio with a degree of independence in organising your time and schedule.

- Proven sales experience in a B2B environment.
- Experience working in the energy sector is essential.
- Excellent telephone manner and professional, articulate communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve sales targets.
