We provide expertise in delivering cross-sector sustainable products and solutions to help create a safe and sustainable world.The RoleWe are looking for a Power / Electrical Engineer analyst consultant (suitable for new graduates, Masters or PhDs and those at the start of their career, looking to change to a purpose-driven career, or returning from a break) to join our Energy Infrastructure Transition team. This role provides a stepping stone into your engineering and consultancy career in a rapidly changing sector.The team comprises professionals in engineering, techno-economic, and management consultancy for the energy sector, with emphasis on power, clean fuels, waste and industrial decarbonisation. We cover strategy to implementation and technical and economic aspects.Key ResponsibilitiesFrom day one, you will be part of a team supporting senior consultants in delivering projects. You will have strong numeracy, analytical and communication skills, a proactive, organized approach, and pride in the quality of work. You will develop understanding of the energy sector across strategic, technical, commercial, and regulatory aspects. You will contribute to research and analysis underpinning our consultancy work, manage your time across projects, contribute to techno-economic models, and to reports and presentations for clients, and assist in proposals to win contracts. You will be responsible for quality and delivery of your work and liaise with other consultants and teams to integrate your contributions into wider outputs.Examples Of Projects You Will Be Working On Include:Network reliability and connection studies.Smart grid / network innovation projects.Feasibility and implementation studies for renewable energy projects.Clean energy infrastructure transition including for large energy users and complex sites.Developing technical and economic energy sector regulatory frameworks in developing countries.Key Competencies And ExperienceA strong degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or equivalent.Excellent understanding of power systems and renewable energy topics.Passionate about energy sector transition, innovation and sustainability.Familiar with Excel, including data manipulation and modelling.Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, with excellent written and spoken English and report writing skills.Ability to breakdown complex research questions, think creatively and solve novel problems.Fluency in English.DesirablePrevious work, internship or course project experience in the energy transition industry or consultancy.Fluency in other languages, particularly Spanish, French or Portuguese.Experience using Python, Homer Pro, Helioscope, PV/Syst, DigSilent, PSS/E, Powerworld, and/or PLEXOS.Visas and SponsorshipRicardo is currently unable to offer sponsorship for post-study work or Skilled Worker visas as part of our early career programmes due to UK Government immigration salary thresholds.
