Enforcement & Market Oversight (EMO) is responsible for the FCA’s responsibilities for market monitoring, delivery of the functions of the UK Listing Authority (UKLA) and the investigation and prosecution of misconduct using the whole spectrum of criminal, civil and administrative sanctions and remedies against firms and individuals. Sitting within the Enforcement & Market Oversight Division, the Enforcement Intelligence and Specialist Services (EISS) Directorate provides strategic expertise, intelligence capabilities and operational support across enforcement functions, strengthening the FCA’s ability to detect harm, deliver effective investigations and uphold market integrity. Role Responsibilities
Shape the future of digital forensics by supporting strategic planning and compliance alongside the Quality and Digital Forensic Managers; ensuring alignment with ISO 17025, the Forensic Science Code of Practice and FCA policies built on NIST standards. Support the Digital Forensic Unit’s technical architecture, overseeing hardware, software and infrastructure design to ensure seamless integration across business and data domains. Drive complex projects and technical excellence, managing infrastructure strategies, providing high‑level technical support and guiding data centre planning and governance. Champion security and innovation to embed best practices across cloud and network environments while researching new technologies and collaborating with FCA stakeholders to identify future opportunities. Inspire and develop talent through effective line management, mentoring junior engineers and contributing to communities of practice that promote knowledge sharing and professional growth. Deliver cutting‑edge forensic capabilities, deploying and maintaining advanced tools and services that power FCA investigations leveraging frameworks like TOGAF and agile methodologies such as AGILE, ITIL and DevOps.
Skills Required
Experience in leading and managing technical teams, with a strong track record of overseeing complex infrastructure and network engineering projects. Proficiency in networking: TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Load Balancing, Firewalls, and strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell). Experience managing On‑Prem Network and hybrid cloud infrastructure and network engineering.
Essential
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, translating complex technical issues for non‑technical audiences. Broad knowledge of technology trends and enterprise‑wide architecture. Strategic and innovative thinker with strong pragmatic problem‑solving abilities. Skilled in applying architectural principles to develop effective business solutions. Experienced in working with hybrid IT and multi‑sourced environments.
