The successful candidate will have experience managing small software teams and will be equally comfortable working with internal teams or external customers and partners. The successful candidate must have experience managing software projects involving Machine Learning or A.I technology. You will lead a SeeByte software engineering team, delivering technology solutions and projects to SeeByte’s customers. You will be comfortable communicating and building relationships with SeeByte’s customers, to scope and successfully deliver SeeByte’s software solutions. Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the successful technical delivery of software projects to SeeByte’s customers, reporting progress to relevant internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for the line management of engineering staff providing through-career support and will be responsible for reviewing, developing and mentoring engineering staff. You will be part of SeeByte’s Engineering Management Team, overseeing key management functions such as resource management, training and recruitment. You will help review and mature SeeByte’s engineering function, defining and implementing new processes and innovative ways of working to ensure SeeByte tools and processes remain state-of-the-art, and are able to meet future business requirements. You will provide technical assistance to the Sales and Business Development teams at SeeByte, to help scope and cost new programmes of work.
Qualifications
Graduated with a BSc, MSc or PhD in Software Engineering or a similar numerical degree (2:1 or above) Demonstrable experience managing software development teams and have a proven track record of delivering software projects on time, on budget, and to specification Demonstratable experience delivering and managing software projects involving Machine Learning or A.I components, with the ability to discuss these technologies to a non-technical audience Experience developing, mentoring and managing engineering staff Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstratable experience interacting with external customers and project partners A high-level knowledge of software engineering and best practice software development processes and techniques Enthusiastic team player with an interest in technology related to autonomous systems Willingness to travel to support client demonstrations, trials and project meetings. This travel may be domestic or international Eligible to apply for UK Security Clearance Experience designing and implementing automated tests Experience working in an Agile project delivery environment Use of current programming languages features (e.g. C#, C++ and Java) Experience testing embedded software, specifically Linux environments Experience with Docker deployments You are customer focussed and keep the customers’ needs at the forefront of your mind You communicate clearly, respectfully and collaborate effectively across teams.
