The Role

Responsible for all Engineering and Maintenance functions of Terminals, Depots and other industrial sites in the Northern Region of assets. Demonstrate to Competent Authorities, Regulators and other key stakeholders commitment to legal compliance and application of industry best practice against all assets, systems and facilities operated by the company. Act as the Electrically Competent Duty Holder for the organisation under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

To support, when required, engineering activities carried out across the group, ensuring all engineering works are being carried out in respect to current Standards, Regulations, Legislations and methods of good practice. Also, to work with partners and third-party businesses to improve facilities or scope projects being undertaken for the company or its subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a team of Engineering Business Partners and Technicians, including both direct line management and dotted-line reporting as appropriate.

Identify improvements, oversee, design, cost, construct, modify and commission assets and facilities at operational sites to improve operational/safety/engineering processes and efficiencies.

Work with Project Engineers to develop technical engineering scopes of works for capital projects, acting as client and overseeing design, project development, installation and commissioning.

Develop effective working relationships with colleagues across the organisation in order to maximise the effectiveness of technical developments to improve engineering & operational performance.

Working as par of the Engineering Maintenance team, interpret and execute the end requirements of legislation directives such as ATEX 95, DSEAR, Pressure Systems Regulations 1989, Highly Flammable Liquids and Liquefied Gas Regulations 1972 and COMAH Regulations and all Environmental Protection driven legislation.

To communicate effectively with all personnel to ensure that all engineering activities allow safe, efficient and effective operation of all aspects of site activities.

To ensure that documented records of engineering and maintenance activities are maintained and kept up to date.

Overall responsibility for all maintenance of plant and equipment at sites under area of responsibility.

To ensure that all work undertaken by company personnel and/or other third parties, is carried out safely to a recognised standard.
