Overview
Being part of the Grid Automation team as Engineering Manager you have full responsibility for successful execution of engineering substation secondary system in AC substations. You will manage and lead teams in charge of technical solutions design, fulfilling customer specifications and engineering standards, checking and ensuring compliance over the domains, obeying laws and regulations. You will plan and allocate resources and budgets to engineering activities, committing workforce proficiency and capability to conduct the assignments in time and quality. Teamwork with Bid Managers, Project Managers and suppliers in the field of secondary systems is your key to success.
Responsibilities
- Leading a diverse team with different domains of technical expertise and proficiency levels.
- Resource Management ensuring high quality, productivity and efficiency.
- Handle specifications for protection, automation and control in AC High voltage substation.
- Ensure delivery of the Engineering Work packages within the project timeline, budget and quality, fulfilling technical requirements.
- Competence Management: Identify skillsets necessary for future business. Identify possible gaps and develop training and certification plans.
- Implement continuous improvement for engineering solutions and lean processes.
- Research new technical solutions for secondary systems.
Qualifications
- University degree in electrical engineering, automation or similar.
- >15 years of work experience in substation control and protection systems in energy transmission and distribution including renewable integration.
- >5 years leading teams with different technical domains.
- Experience working with different cultures (international experience).
- Profound technical knowledge and long-standing working experience in automation technology, digital substation and grid integration.
- Leading authority who helps to strengthen the organization for long term success.
- Several years of experience as a Team Lead, Engineering Manager or Project Lead with strategic direction.
- Experience in brownfield and greenfield projects for secondary systems in HV substations.
- Innovative open mindset to explore new paths.
- Technical and business-type verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English (mandatory).
