What You Can Expect

• Location – Hybrid
• Salary – £80,000 - 100,000

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creation, maintenance, and governance of enterprise architecture frameworks, ensuring they align with organisational objectives and IT standards.
• Partner with senior leadership to shape technology strategy and provide direction for major transformation initiatives.
• Act as the Design Authority across programmes, overseeing architectural decisions and ensuring consistency across systems, platforms, and data flows.
• Drive innovation by assessing emerging technologies and integrating them into the enterprise landscape where relevant.
• Mentor and support architecture and engineering teams, promoting continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Chair and contribute to governance boards, such as Technical Design Authorities and Change Boards, with the authority to influence or veto design decisions where required.
• Ensure architectural designs enable operational efficiency, scalability, and compliance with security and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate design activities within programmes, serving as custodian of strategies and roadmaps for the architecture, and acting as the Design Authority.
• Manage target designs, policies, and standards for programmes, working proactively to deliver stable, effective designs and ensuring alignment across projects.
• Monitor technical progress, ensuring coordination and change control are applied; advise on the impact of changes, assess risks, and guide resolution of major technical issues.

Skills required

• Extensive experience in enterprise architecture across complex and regulated environments.
• Strong leadership abilities and stakeholder management skills, with the capacity to influence decision-making at all organisational levels.
• In-depth knowledge of systems integration, cloud technologies, data architecture, and digital transformation.
• Skilled in mentoring and developing technical teams to enhance capability and performance.
• Strategic mindset with a practical focus on delivering business value through technology.
