Environmental Advisor Role
We are currently seeking an Environmental Advisor to support our Land & Minerals Team. Suitable candidates will have at least 2 years of experience in technical waste assessment and/or end of waste development. You will join a team of 6 colleagues, reporting to the Environment Manager.
We recognise that protecting the environment is one of the greatest challenges currently facing humanity, and we are committed to operating our business in a way that minimises and mitigates environmental impacts through innovation and industry best practices. This is a great opportunity to join us at the start of our journey in environmental compliance for a FTSE 250 company.
Our head office is at Breedon in the Hill; however, this role can be based anywhere within the UK, with a nearby site as your base. Travel to multiple sites will be required, and a company car or allowance will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance on environmental policies, sustainability strategies, and eco-friendly practices.
- Monitor and improve compliance with environmental legislation and standards.
- Assess environmental risks and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Report key environmental information and actions to stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance on waste acceptance, duty of care, and waste assessment.
- Develop process and system governance documents.
- Collaborate with and train stakeholders to promote awareness and best practices.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Motivated by influencing leaders and operational teams to improve environmental performance; comfortable driving change and developing plans and projects.
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an environmental discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A full UK driving license is essential.
