Job Description
We are now seeking an experienced Environment and Release Manager to join our Oracle team, supporting major public sector clients. This is a key coordination and governance role, ensuring the integrity of environment management and release processes across a complex programme landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Own and maintain the environment and cloning plan, ensuring environments are fit for purpose across all phases of testing and deployment.
Manage the release process for configuration and code changes, from defect triage through to approval, deployment, and validation.
Chair and coordinate change release meetings, ensuring timely review and approval of change requests.
Maintain release runbooks, ensuring all pre‑release tasks are completed by relevant teams (technical, functional, reporting, client).
Ensure traceability and version control of all configuration and design changes, aligned with audit and quality standards.
Support walkthroughs of configuration and environment readiness as part of formal entry criteria for testing phases.
Collaborate with client‑side release managers in a “two‑in‑a‑box” model, ensuring alignment and transparency.
Monitor and report on defect and change request status, using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
Drive continuous improvement in environment and release processes, exploring automation opportunities where feasible.
Eligibility
This role requires candidates to be eligible for SC clearance, which includes having a minimum of 5 years of continuous residency in the UK.
Qualifications
Proven experience in Oracle Cloud ERP implementations, with a strong understanding of environment lifecycle management and release governance.
Demonstrable track record in Environment and Release Management across complex programmes, ideally within public sector or regulated environments.
Experience managing configuration and code releases through multiple test environments (e.g. DEV, UAT, Pre‑Prod), ensuring traceability and audit readiness.
Familiarity with JIRA or similar tools for defect tracking and change request management.
Strong working knowledge of ITIL framework, particularly around Change and Release Management (ITIL Foundation certification desirable).
Experience coordinating across cross‑functional teams including technical, functional, testing and client stakeholders.
Exposure to CI/CD principles and hybrid release models (manual + automated), with an understanding of Oracle related tooling (FSM, Config Snapshot, etc.).

Leadership & Coordination: Ability to lead environment and release planning activities, chair release meetings, and manage stakeholder communications.
Analytical Thinking: Capable of assessing release risks, validating deployments, and ensuring environment readiness.
Communication: Clear and confident communicator, able to engage with senior stakeholders and technical teams.
Planning & Organisation: Skilled in managing environment calendars, cloning schedules, and release runbooks.
Problem Solving: Proactive in identifying and resolving environment‑related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to testing and production.
Documentation & Governance: Strong attention to detail in maintaining environment plans, change logs, and validation records.
Collaboration: Comfortable working in a “two‑in‑a‑box” model with client‑side release managers and SMEs.
