Your impact
You will provide technical advice and support in the provision of environmental permitting, management systems and compliance services to clients across a range of sectors including water utilities, chemicals and manufacturing in the UK, Ireland and Europe.
This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of Jacobs’ high‑profile clients and contribute to the implementation of transformative project solutions across large and complex estates and processes, as an integral part of a specialist environmental management and compliance team offering you the opportunity to scope/cultivate technical and/or innovative solutions, providing both practical and strategic support to projects that will improve the performance of our client organisations in relation to various aspects of environmental management, compliance, governance, auditing and permitting.
Responsibilities
- Assess client’s processes and procedures and draft permit applications including completion of relevant documentation such as BAT assessments and management plans.
- Provide technical expertise and advice in relation to environmental management systems and deliver compliance auditing services.
- Liaise with regulators to provide successful outcomes for our clients.
- Foster strong and trusting relationships across diverse client teams.
- Directly influence environmental outcomes, community value, and long‑term sustainability.
- Actively develop your network internally and externally to the business, maintain positive client relationships and contribute to work‑winning activities, where appropriate.
- Take accountability and ownership for time, cost and quality of project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Graduate or MSc in Environmental Science, Geography, Environmental Engineering.
- Chartered or working toward – (CIWEM ISEP).
- Demonstrable track record in successfully producing and delivering environmental permits for both utilities and major infrastructure projects.
- Experience of developing and delivering best available techniques assessments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills in the provision of environmental management support to infrastructure and design projects.
