AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and are looking for talented people who want to help. Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure for Data Centers (DC) in AWS Cloud regions. Ensure the world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure is operated and maintained.
- Manage facility operations and ensure the implementation of safety procedures.
- Maintain a motivated, self-managed approach; demonstrate initiative and proactively seek solutions while striving for operational excellence.
- Follow a process-oriented approach and be willing to learn new processes and adapt to rapidly changing operational scenarios with conflicting priorities.
- Be part of the Engineering and Facilities team and be responsible for maintaining availability for customers, operating and maintaining technical infrastructure, and the upkeep and operation of the DC facility.
- Safety: follow and uphold the highest safety standards, encourage a world-class safety culture, own safety initiatives and remediation of safety risks in conjunction with other teams.
- Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance: possess operational experience with electrical and mechanical equipment (UPSs, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATSs, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs, transformers).
- Troubleshoot events within internal SLAs and take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds and log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
- Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required.
- Ability to work shifts (morning, late, and night) and participate in on-call rotation for off-duty emergency calls.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in relevant work
- Can bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working
- Can use hands to manipulate small wires and objects
- Can walk on job sites in uneven terrain
- Can work at heights and from ladders
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in data center engineering
- Can perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired
