Job Summary: We are implementing a single Electronic Patient Record (EPR) as part of the NHS digital health programme across the Norfolk and Waveney Acute Hospital Collaborative (NWAHC). The collaborative includes three acute hospitals: James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (JPUH), Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH), and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust (QEH).

Main duties of the job

Role: EPRHR Business Partner Lead. You will shape the workforce across JPUH, NNUH & QEH in alignment with the Norfolk & Waveney Acute Hospital Collaborative (N&WAHC) EPR Programme. The role requires a people-focused mindset, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of how digital change affects people, processes and organisational culture.

Reporting formally to the EPR Deputy Programme Director and working closely with the EPR Workforce Lead, you will be a key member of the EPR Workforce workstream. You will lead the HR BP team and provide professional HR expertise to influence and manage all Workforce elements of the NWAHC EPR Programme. This includes strategically planning, leading and advising on HR aspects, evaluating and guiding Trust HR Leads on the impact of workplace changes, and realising identified workforce-related benefits within a legal context on consultation and engagement requirements.

Person Specification

Qualifications — Essential

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent relevant experience
  • Chartered MCIPD or equivalent

Experience — Essential

  • Significant experience at a senior management level as an HR specialist
  • Specialist knowledge of current employment law
  • Experience leading HR projects
  • Significant experience of HR-related change management
  • Experience of partnership working, including consultation and negotiations in a unionised environment

Desirable

  • Understanding of effective HR practice in a hospital environment

Skills — Essential

  • Ability to draft well-written cases, reports and business/change documents
  • Ability to interpret and analyse complex information including legal decisions/case law
  • Experience of managing staff, developing others and inspiring confidence
  • Knowledge of TUPE / staff restructures and consultations

Attitude — Essential
