Executive Support Manager (Office of the Vice-Chancellor) — The starting salary will be from £38,249.00 per annum (grade 7).

Who we’re looking for:

We’re seeking a dynamic, highly organised professional, to lead and coordinate support for the Vice-Chancellor and Executive Leadership Team. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the office, working closely with the Governance Services Manager and collaborating with Directors, Deans, and colleagues across the University. With exceptional leadership, communication, digital and organisational skills – plus a flair for problem-solving and a proactive approach – you’ll provide first-class administrative support at the very heart of Marjon.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and inspire the Executive Support Team, creating a professional, positive and inclusive working environment.
  • Manage the smooth flow of information in and out of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, ensuring communications are timely, accurate and consistent, and work in close partnership with colleagues across the University.
  • Coordinate and support the Vice-Chancellor and Executive Leadership Team’s engagement with internal and external stakeholders and play a key role in major events.
  • Provide specific administrative support for the Vice-Chancellor including complex diary and inbox management, overseeing special projects, managing budgets, and handling confidential correspondence with discretion.
  • Schedule and service Executive Leadership Team meetings, follow up actions, and support strategic discussions and away days to ensure operations run seamlessly.

Where you’ll work:

Based in the Vice Chancellors office in the South Block on our green campus in the north of Plymouth. Our current hybrid working policy means there is some opportunity to work from home, dependent on business needs, but you will need to maintain strong campus links and be available on-site when needed.
