  • Role: Family Intervention Worker
  • Location: Peterborough / Cambridge
  • Contract type: Zero Hours
  • Hours: Sessional, will include Saturdays
  • Salary: £13.54 per hour
  • Closing date: 8th October 2025

About the Role

We are looking for experienced family support workers to join our team to deliver CAFCASS Improving Child and Family Arrangements (ICFA). ICFA help families agree safe, beneficial and sustainable child arrangements. The role involves working alongside parents to improve outcomes for their individual family over a 12-week period.

Sessions can be arranged at suitable times for you and the families you are working with, allowing flexibility of days and times worked. The role often involves some weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Reducing barriers and resistance to agreeing arrangements
  • Promoting positive communication within families
  • Ensuring children’s wishes and feelings are heard
  • Working with parents and children to agree a plan to break down barriers, improve communication, observe family interactions during direct contact sessions and agree next steps
  • Supporting parents to prepare a parenting plan for after ICFA has been completed
  • Producing written reports as part of the role

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Full training and support are provided to the successful candidate
  • This is an ideal role for graduates with experience of working directly with children and families
