As a Field Sales Engineer you will support accounts in the power, transmission and distribution industries, with opportunities for personal and professional growth while helping customers achieve their goals through Stäubli products.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the designated territory, including:
- USA: Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and New Mexico.
- Canada: Alberta and British Columbia.
- Requisite travel ranging from 25-40%.
- Drive electrical connector sales by cultivating relationships with existing and prospective customers and key players within industries such as Power Transmission & Distribution, Utilities & Energy Storage, Exploration, Aerospace & Defense, Motor Drives, Power Conversion and Conditioning, and Data Centers.
- Serve as an expert on high-current electrical connectors and Multilam contact technology, providing guidance and identifying new business opportunities within the designated region.
- Establish and maintain excellent client relations, augmenting sales with onsite support, technical assistance, and customized training.
- Execute growth strategies in collaboration with the Business Development Manager and Head of Sales to boost market share in specified sectors.
- Manage ETO (engineer to offer) connector projects according to Staubli standard processes and ensure a deep understanding of product applications to deliver value-based solutions.
- Accurately maintain customer and sales opportunity records within the Aurea CRM system.
- Actively participate in marketing activities, including networking events, trade shows, and webinars, and complete required administrative tasks and HR trainings.
- Adapt to evolving strategies and adjust job responsibilities as needed under management direction.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit with the drive and self-direction to excel autonomously.
- Work in a fully remote position with a private space for live video conferences.
- Proven experience in technical sales with the ability to engage and understand customer needs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Strong decision-making abilities and time management skills, including travel arrangements.
- Competent in engineering fundamentals, such as interpreting mechanical drawings and basic electrical engineering concepts.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work with minimal oversight.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills for identifying customer needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Aurea CRM, SAP, and various remote meeting platforms.
- Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn market segments such as Power Transmission and Distribution, Utilities and Exploration, Aerospace & Defense, Industrial Machinery, and Data Centers.
Additional Information
Required Education and/or Experience.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering. Experience in technical sales or a customer-focused engineering role is ideal.
Ability to obtain a valid U.S. passport and cross international borders as required for managing the territory and travel expectations (25% to 40%).
U.S. citizenship is a must, as the candidate may need to pass examinations to obtain government clearances. Non- with permanent status may be considered, provided they can meet the requirements for clearance.
May be required to successfully complete a criminal background check and provide valid proof of .
Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive.
Ideally located within a 100 mile radius of Anaheim, but other locations will be considered.
