Job Description
The Strategy, Solutions and Capital Portfolio supports the overarching Heathrow capital plan to help deliver our strategic objectives. We are looking for passionate and driven Finance Analysts to work alongside the Long Term Growth programme team and the wider Finance business partnering teams to ensure we are developing and prioritising investments at Heathrow to optimise the capital portfolio. In addition, the successful candidate will be an integral part of the long- and short-term capital planning and performance process.
We welcome applications from fully qualified accountants as well as those who are close to completing the qualification or qualified by experience, particularly if you bring a strong appetite for learning, continuous improvement, and a proactive mindset.
Your role will involve
- Supporting Long Term Growth (LTG) capital programme on investment appraisal & financial assurance activities, and assisting the wider finance team in tracking and managing project investment appraisal activities.
- Delivering analytical solutions and Business Intelligence tools such as reports and dashboards on HAL’s capital performance.
- Supporting portfolio/programme benefit analysis and reporting.
- Helping manage the project pipeline, supporting programmes to identify potential projects and prioritising these against the Heathrow benefits framework.
- Owning the financial appraisal & assurance models.
- Working across the business to understand and manage the portfolio’s financial risks and opportunities.
- Liaising with and challenging/influencing stakeholders within Finance and non-Finance functions, and externally where required, to enable Heathrow to deliver its value potential.
These Skills Are Essential
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent), finalist or qualified by experience with relevant expertise.
- Experience with Power BI reporting and data visualisation.
- Experience in handling capital projects with strong insight into accounting treatment, planning, and appraisal to support monitoring and reporting metrics.
- Adept at providing business knowledge, analytical support, and clear presentation of financial and business information to non-finance stakeholders.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
