OverviewChol is a dynamic and socially conscious theatre company and registered charity based in Yorkshire. We work with children and young people (CYP) from early years to early career across Yorkshire and the North, prioritising work in Kirklees, Barnsley, Sheffield and Rotherham. Our approach is collaborative, working in everyday community and educational settings to co-create stories rooted in communities and local heritage. We are committed to nurturing the next generation of creative change makers, helping young people know they can be active in making positive change in their own lives and communities.We are looking for a Finance and Admin Lead to support the day-to-day running of our organisation. Responsibilities include:ResponsibilitiesProducing reports and providing accurate financial information.Performing regular bank reconciliations.Acting as one of two bank signatories.Liaising with external accountant on year-end processes and Charity Commission returns.Producing and updating cashflow documents.Leading on the development and management of annual budgets, supported by the team.Processing transactions and running monthly payroll.Maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.Maintaining a grant management system to ensure reporting requirements are met.Overseeing policies in partnership with Chol directors.Qualifications and ExperienceBelief in and commitment to Chol’s programme and mission.Demonstrable commitment to anti-racism, justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.Experience with ACE NPO organisational practices.Proficiency in QuickBooks and Charity Accounts.Knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, NI, pensions and theatre union agreements.Ability to work independently and self-motivate, as well as collaboratively in a team.Good IT skills, especially Excel.Strong communications skills and ability to handle confidential information.Experience updating and maintaining Arts Council England’s Illuminate system.Willingness to undertake training for role development.Interest in the development of the Finance Lead role and an appetite to support Chol’s growth.Understanding or experience of HR, contracting, data protection, and governance.Contract and RemunerationStart Date: NovemberContract: Initial Fixed Term contract until 5 April 2026, for a part-time role of 2 days a week (16 hours). Days to be agreed to meet Chol’s needs; likely one day will be Monday for the weekly online Chol-Operative team meeting and our monthly in-person meeting.Salary: £32,500 FTE per year (£13,000 pro rata) (flat Chol-Operative rate).Pension: If the role extends beyond the initial term, the postholder will be enrolled in Chol’s pension scheme (NEST). Employer contributions at the statutory minimum rate of 3% with employee contributions of 5%.Holiday: 30 days full-time equivalent including bank holidays. For this part-time role, holidays are pro‑rata based on start date.Location: Flexible working.
