The role supports end-to-end service delivery for large and complex infrastructure commissions, covering private and public sector clients. You will help deliver a value-added commercial assurance service to ensure client objectives are met, with a focus on cost & commercial assurance, timely delivery, reporting, and presenting results. The Commercial Assurance Team is based across the UK and you will be based in a regional office (e.g., London, Bristol, Birmingham). Travel may be required within the UK and internationally to support delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Finance system management, including SAP; analyzing and monthly reporting; creating and managing Purchase Orders, Goods Receipt process, project creation, budget maintenance, forecasting, vendor management, aged debt reporting, and invoice handling.
  • Evaluate cost data and structures against contractual/commercial principles.
  • Analyze cost data to identify patterns, trends and risks.
  • Appraise cost capture and commercial management processes.
  • Perform detailed cost verification, payroll audits, and data sampling.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities for cost controls and governance.
  • Engage with project and finance staff to complete cost verification and substantiate data with key documentation.
  • Manage stakeholders and communications to align expectations.
  • Support the production of close-out reports.
  • Present outputs and recommendations to clients and their supply chain.
  • Lead engagements when travelling to different sites nationally and internationally.
  • Mentor junior staff and upskill internal/external stakeholders in cost and commercial assurance.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering service excellence to clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in delivering cost and commercial assurance/audit activities.
  • Ability to interpret a wide range of contracts and apply cost component principles.
  • Experience analyzing large data sets, primarily Excel-driven, with exposure to different cost systems.
  • Ability to extract, interrogate and assess large data sets to support decision making.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving delivery challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to maintain relationships with clients.
  • Commitment to professional competence and client service excellence.
  • Experience working within a client organization, directly or through secondment.
  • Desirable: knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts (PSC, ECC).
  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline; professional memberships are an advantage but not essential.
  • Ability to obtain relevant security clearance is desired.
