Finance Business Analyst – Role Overview

VIVO is seeking a proactive and analytically minded **Finance Business Analyst** to join our dynamic finance function and play a pivotal role in connecting financial insight with operational performance. This role offers the opportunity to work across a complex, fast‑paced business environment, supporting strategic decision‑making, driving process improvements, and ensuring the highest standards of financial control and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of operational processes and their impact on the financial landscape of the business.
  • Work closely with Finance Business Partners, Commercial teams, and operational leaders to interrogate data from multiple systems—including SAP, Maximo, and supplier applications—to ensure accuracy, transparency, and meaningful analysis of financial results.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities across key performance areas using financial data and KPIs to provide actionable insights that support profitability, compliance, and strategic delivery.
  • Review operational performance, understand the drivers behind financial outcomes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and commercial success.
  • Support the prioritisation and workflow management of the Built Estates Finance Team, ensuring resources are effectively deployed to expedite resolution of key issues and deliverables.
  • Certainly interact with Finance Business Partners across various contracts and the Commercial and Billable Works Teams to ensure revenue recognition, cost allocation, and work‑in‑progress reporting are accurate and aligned with business activity.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts, assist with forecasting and budgeting cycles, and support the delivery of financial reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate financial records – balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow, and forecasts – ensuring compliance with IFRS and company standards.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks while highlighting opportunities for growth and operational optimisation.
  • Provide analytical support to senior team meetings and take an active role in relevant senior team discussions.
  • Drive continuous process improvement, leveraging technical and analytical skills to automate, enhance reporting capabilities, and streamline financial workflows for greater accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) and/or newly qualified or early stage business partnering experience.
  • Strong understanding of technical accounting principles under IFRS and ability to apply financial insight to commercial and operational contexts.
  • Comfortable working with complex data, advanced Excel skills, and ability to manipulate, interpret and present financial information concisely.
  • Experience with SAP systems and interfaces is desirable, though not essential.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; capable of challenging assumptions, questioning performance drivers and providing clear, evidence‑based recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness, excellent organisational abilities and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.
  • Previous experience in Defence, Facilities Management or Asset Management sectors would be advantageous, though not required.

Additional Information

This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work from home and various UK locations, with regular travel to support VIVO Leadership, Finance Teams and key stakeholders. The ability to adapt to changing business needs and travel at short notice when required is essential.
