We are recruiting a Finance Business Partner to provide a first-class financial service to our subsidiary and joint venture companies. What’s the role?

The postholder will be responsible for the budget cycle, from preparation to monitoring, and reporting on performance for income and expenditure. The role will cover VAT and fixed asset accounting, and lead the preparation of the statutory financial accounts. You will deliver the service with one direct report and support from colleagues in the Finance Operations and Incomes teams. Using your accounting and interpersonal skills, you will effectively support and challenge budget holders to deliver the Group's key objective of remaining financially secure.

  • be responsible for the delivery of core financial information to management
  • lead an effective budget-setting and performance reporting process
  • support managers with business case preparation
  • lead and manage the accounting for capital expenditure
  • lead the financial year end and manage the audit

What are we looking for?

You will be a customer-focused leader of the finance reporting function, with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people. You will be numerically strong with sound financial principles. You will have relevant skills and a desire to develop your team to meet the current and future demands of an effective finance reporting function.

Essential

  • At least 2 years' experience preparing financial and management accounts
  • Qualified Accountant or Finalist
  • Experience of managing and developing staff
  • Recent, relevant experience of producing statutory financial accounts
  • A hands-on approach to delivery
  • You will need to maintain a satisfactory basic level DBS check.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the housing sector
  • Knowledge of VAT Accounting
  • Experience of developing staff
