About The Role Of Finance Business Partner

As our strategic Business Partner, you will align operational execution with long‑term business objectives. You’ll combine deep financial analysis with high‑impact leadership across cross‑functional teams, ensuring data‑driven, commercially sharp decisions for the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce timely and accurate financial reports, including P&L and working capital schedules
  • Prepare and present key monthly management information, including variance analysis and KPI trends
  • Drive annual budgeting and forecasting cycles
  • Champion cost‑efficiency initiatives and process improvement projects
  • Manage and prepare an appropriate suite of KPIs
  • Oversee, review and develop commercial & financial systems and processes
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Support the long‑term strategic planning and decision-making process
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks
  • Challenge and mentor the commercial and finance teams
  • Support pricing, bidding and client negotiations
  • Foster an environment where every commercial and finance professional can reach their full potential
  • Lead the cost management agenda to drive year‑on‑year cost efficiencies and operational improvements
  • Oversee capital investment appraisals within the business
  • Ensure projects with major financial funding implications receive a suitable level of financial expertise, commercial acumen and risk analysis
  • Continuously monitor, evaluate and improve financial processes and systems

About You

We are looking for a well‑developed leadership and management professional with an inclusive approach to business. You are commercially astute, results‑driven, a robust self‑starter who works well under pressure, a team player, and able to challenge positively and debate confidently. You work with integrity and possess strong negotiation skills and determination.

Attributes For a Finance Business Partner

  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Senior finance management experience
  • Experience managing small teams
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Flexible to travel as required
  • Right to work in the UK (unsponsored)
  • Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points and no bans in the last 5 years
  • Experience in month‑end processes
  • Previous financial & commercial experience within a B2B contracting environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem‑solving skills
  • Technical proficiency in relevant software (e.g. Excel, ERP systems, Power BI)
  • Leadership qualities, including the ability to mentor and develop team members
