Finance Business Partner - c£45,000

Be the financial support behind life‑changing services. If you’re tired of spreadsheets that only serve shareholders and want your finance expertise to genuinely transform lives, this opportunity with a charity could be your calling.

What You’ll Do

Step into the business partner team where finance meets frontline impact! You will be the trusted financial advisor to budget holders across services, preparing monthly management accounts that tell the real story behind service user outcomes, not just numbers.

You will handle restricted funds reconciliation for life‑changing projects, legacy income management that funds tomorrow’s services, and variance analysis that helps operational teams do more with every pound. You’ll facilitate monthly meetings where your financial insights help shape service delivery strategies.

This isn’t just number‑crunching but developing financial models for new service provision initiatives, challenging assumptions on service expansion, and ensuring every penny of charitable funding maximises impact for vulnerable service users.

What You’ll Need

  • CCAB qualified or qualified by experience accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Hands‑on charity or healthcare sector experience – you understand the unique challenges of funding, restricted grants, and outcome‑based commissioning
  • Advanced Excel mastery and financial modeling expertise
  • Business partnering experience – you can translate complex finance into actionable insights for non‑finance colleagues
  • Charity/non‑profit background preferred – you get the passion behind the purpose
  • Strong stakeholder management skills – you’ll be working with everyone from operational managers to trustees

Why This Role Will Change Your Career

Every financial decision you influence directly impacts someone’s quality of life. Your budget variance analysis helps determine if a young person gets the support they need for independent living. Your forecasting work shapes whether new disability services can launch in underserved communities.

You’ll work with fundraising teams on multi‑million pound legacy campaigns, support operational teams with commissioning bids that secure futures, and present to boards where your insights drive strategic decisions affecting thousands of vulnerable people.

From capital project appraisals for new facilities to treasury management ensuring cash flow for essential services, you will see immediate, tangible results from your financial expertise.
