Overview

Finance Director (Part-time) – We are looking for a talented FD to lead our Finance function and work closely with our leadership team. This is a high-impact leadership role in a company undergoing rapid growth, including new partnerships and finance process improvements. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the board, you will provide financial leadership, commercial insight, and operational control to help steer the business through this exciting phase. This is a part-time role, around two days per week. The role is hybrid with flexibility to work remotely; travel to our London offices will be needed periodically.

You will be a crucial team member with the power to make a real, tangible impact on the company and influence how we grow the business. You will also be eligible for employee share options, meaning you will own part of the company.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting, management accounts, and performance analysis.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to drive profitability and support long-term planning.
• Develop and enhance board packs, KPI dashboards, and rolling forecasts.
• Partner with the leadership team on business cases, contracts, investments, and strategic decisions.
• Provide commercial insight and financial advice to support growth initiatives and business planning.
• Oversee cash flow management and forecasting.
• Champion system, process, and performance improvements.
• Support fundraising and investor/partnering activities.
• Manage the relationship with the external accounting provider.

The Person

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Broad operational, technical, and commercial finance expertise.
• Proven track record in financial management, strategic planning, and business partnering.
• Demonstrated success in finance transformation and process improvement.
• Experience in venture-backed startups and high-growth environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, engaging across commercial, R&D, board, and investor levels.
• Commercially astute with the ability to shape and influence business strategy.
• Alignment with and commitment to our mission and values.
