Payroll & Finance Manager - Recruitment & Umbrella Company

Location: Thatcham - Flexible / Hybrid / Remote

Employment Type: Full-time or Part-time

Salary: £30,000 - £55,000 DoE

We are seeking a Payroll Manager to support both our recruitment business and umbrella company operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll within the recruitment sector, with hands‑on experience processing PAYE, CIS, and Umbrella payrolls.

Key Responsibilities

  • End‑to‑end payroll processing for PAYE, CIS, and Umbrella workers on a weekly basis
  • Ensuring accurate and timely payments, RTI submissions, and HMRC compliance
  • Managing payroll queries and liaising with contractors, clients, and internal teams
  • Overseeing pension auto‑enrolment and statutory deductions
  • Keeping up to date with changes in payroll legislation and recruitment industry compliance
  • Supporting credit control, invoicing, and general finance admin

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a payroll role within a recruitment or umbrella company
  • Solid understanding of PAYE, CIS, and Umbrella payroll schemes
  • Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., Xero)
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
