Overview

The Financial Controller role is a crucial part of the Finance team, focusing primarily on leading a medium sized team, ensuring the delivery of strong financial control and risk management within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of financial control functions
  • Ensuring all balance sheet accounts are fully and transparently reconciled - with particular emphasis on bank reconciliations
  • Document each key accounting process and publish written work instructions that can be followed; developing those processes to ensure efficiency and robust financial control
  • Leadership of transactional finance functions - AP and AR - as well as treasury activity; ensuring deadlines are met through efficient processes
  • Providing auditors' requests for information promptly and accurately; production of statutory accounts
  • Mentoring and supporting development of team members

Experience, Requirement And Key Behaviours

  • Qualified accountant with a minimum 3 year' post-equal experience in a high volume, low margin business within a listed group
  • Proactive and hands on, with a desire to continuously improve processes, provide great service and deeply understand the problem at hand
  • Passion for excellence in financial control
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, passion for process efficiency
  • Genuine, practical experience of leading a team delivering timely month end reporting
  • Thrives under pressure and adapts positively to change
  • A passion for all things travel related!
