Overview

This is an newly created opportunity for a skilled technical Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in overseeing the Management Accounting and technical Financial Accounting team within the organisation.

Our client is a large well-established entity going through a period of transformational change.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the group accounts consolidation and all notes to the group accounts within your team, by working with the Excel model and following a robust preparation process and also work with our finance transformation team to embed the current Excel consolidation into a more technology driven model, to ensure year-end deadlines are met and current solutions are improved.
  • Maintain robust internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory requirements, by working with and holding to account Finance and Governance operations and business partners and the wider business.
  • Deliver technical financial support, guidance and insight to support executive decision making, by being a member of relevant project groups and providing relevant reporting - this includes matters such as complex transactions and creation or acquisition of new trading activities, assets trading entities, funding mechanisms for strategic commercial investment programmes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes through technology best practice adoption, working with wider Finance Transformation leadership team.

Profile / Qualifications

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) or equivalent.
  • This role will suit either a Manager/Senior Manager in a Practice looking to make their 1st step into a Financial Controller role or an established Group Financial Controller in a complex organisation
  • Excellent technical Accounting skills.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to present financial insights to stakeholders

Job Offer

  • A competitive salary in the range of £70,000 to £80,000 per annum.
  • Hybrid working (typically 2 days a week in the office)
  • 28 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • 8% pension contributions
