Fire Assessor Senior Consultant – Location: Remote / Hybrid.

This opportunity allows the Fire Assessor to lead in delivering fire strategies, fire risk assessments, and design-stage consultancy services. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Fire Assessor will help ensure safety of Critical National Infrastructure such as submarines, power stations and explosives facilities. The role supports the development of the client’s Fire Engineering and Assessment service, including Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR), fire dynamics, compartmentation, evacuation modelling, and passive/active fire protection solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fire safety strategies, reports, technical notes and sketches, ensuring compliance with fire regulations.
  • Lead or contribute to design reviews, assess fire safety risks and propose practical, effective solutions.
  • Conduct fire engineering analysis, including smoke and evacuation modelling, temperature spread calculations, and structural assessments.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and statutory authorities, ensuring fire safety measures align with project requirements.
  • Work with advanced computer modelling software to perform fire dynamics assessments and simulations.

Essential Requirements

  • A degree in Fire Safety Engineering, Fire Protection Technologies or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients, design teams, and regulatory bodies.

Desirable Requirements

  • Consultancy experience (desirable).
