Our Public Sector Client is looking for a Fire Safety Manager to ensure the safety of the building, primarily for the safety of all occupants of multi-occupied residential buildings including Low-Rise Residential Buildings, High-Rise Residential Buildings, and Supported Housing for Older People. There will also be a requirement to input on the Building Safety policies and procedures, as well as developing and updating fire safety strategies and working on fire safety aspects of building safety cases.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage fire safety in a social housing setting, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and British Standards.
  • Develop and update fire safety strategies and contribute to building safety cases.
  • Input on Building Safety policies and procedures.
  • Plan and deliver complex projects and programmes related to fire safety.
  • Input on service improvement, ensuring outcomes for citizens and customers are enhanced.
  • Manage performance, finance, and budgets to meet targets.
  • Lead and motivate teams across the service and manage change effectively.
  • Work with diverse stakeholders and apply analytical approaches to complex problems.
  • Utilise digital technology to deliver and improve services.

Essential Experience

  • Experience of effective fire safety management at a senior level in a social housing setting, with in-depth knowledge of relevant regulation and British Standards.
  • In-depth understanding of complex buildings, fire safety systems and remediation of fire safety issues.
  • Ability to formulate and articulate strategies and plans.
  • Experience of managing and developing services to improve outcomes for citizens and customers.
  • Effectively plan and deliver complex projects and programmes.
  • Lead and manage, inspiring and motivating people across a whole service.
  • Manage performance effectively and hold all team members to account.
  • Plan and manage all finances and budgets to meet performance targets.
  • Ability to contribute to innovation and take analytical approaches to solving complex problems.
  • Experience of using digital technology to deliver and improve services.
  • Experience of working in complex and diverse organisations.
  • Ability to cope with ambiguity through effective change management approaches.
  • Ability to work credibly with diverse and complex stakeholders.
  • Highly developed advocacy, negotiation and presentation skills.

Qualifications (Essential)

  • Fire safety related qualification, or equivalent
  • Professional membership to IFE and/or IFSM, or equivalent
