Join Securitas Technology as a Fire & Security System Designer and lead the design of innovative fire alarm and electronic security systems that help clients reduce risk and protect their businesses.
Responsibilities
- Define and prioritise STL solutions in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and other company divisions to expand business opportunities.
- Understand customer needs, identify solution gaps, and develop offerings to meet local market requirements.
- Ensure product and standards compliance across markets and stay informed on market trends and developments.
- Communicate solution capabilities clearly to operational and commercial teams.
- Leverage existing products and solutions nationally, across Europe, and globally, ensuring knowledge sharing and standardised approaches.
- Produce specific scopes of work for required disciplines.
- Prepare comprehensive cost documentation for review and approval by commercial and operational teams.
- Create detailed drawings showing solutions, component locations, and third‑party dependencies.
- Develop programmes of work outlining implementation steps, durations, and key dependencies to meet milestones.
Accountabilities and Performance Measures
- Conversion rate of opportunities assigned to you to design.
- Produce and design all required documentation in line with the sales process, approval process and client timeframes.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the Design Manager.
Qualifications
- Strong team player with a “one team” mindset and zero‑blame culture.
- Proactive, hands‑on approach with high work capacity.
- Excellent communicator, comfortable presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
- 5+ years’ verifiable experience in solution design within IS/IT, Security, Electronic Security, IoT, or related industries.
- Practical experience in Fire Alarm System Design with valid Level 3 FIA Design qualifications.
- Skilled in product/solution lifecycle management and working in a national environment.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
- Sound knowledge of a wide range of products, including innovative and best‑in‑class solutions.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
- Valid UK driving licence and 5‑year work history.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Strong decision‑making, technical knowledge, and commercial awareness.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and conceptual thinking skills.
- Expertise in technical design development for Fire and Electronic Security systems.
- Extensive knowledge of Fire Alarm and Electronic Security systems, networks, and IT infrastructure.
- Ability to create technical designs using Visio/Bluebeam; CAD skills advantageous.
- Understanding of network/server vulnerabilities and security considerations.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of design and regulations for Intruder Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, and Fire Alarms.
- Experience with common systems:
- Intruder: Galaxy, Texacom, PACOM
- CCTV: Avigilon, Milestone, Genetec, Axis, Hanwha
- Access Control: Paxton, PAC, Lenel, Genetec
