About the RoleWe're looking for a versatile, hands‑on engineer with strong technical ability and a passion for delivering excellence in life safety and security systems. As part of our field engineering team, you'll install, maintain, and commission fire alarm, CCTV, intruder alarm, and access control systems across a range of commercial and industrial sites.This is a dynamic role suited to someone who enjoys variety, independence, and problem‑solving, no two days are the same. You'll be trusted to plan your own workload, deliver outstanding service, and contribute to continuous improvement in safety and system reliability.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, service, commission, and fault‑find on Fire Alarm, Intruder, CCTV, and Access Control systems (conventional & addressable).Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure compliance with BS 5839, BS 6266, BS 4737, and NSI/BAFE standards.Diagnose faults quickly and efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.Provide technical support and system training to clients and end‑users.Work within H&S and quality assurance frameworks, ensuring every job meets internal and regulatory standards.Maintain accurate records, service sheets, and commissioning certificates using digital reporting systems.Liaise with customers and site contacts in a professional, clear, and courteous manner.Participate in an on‑call rota for emergency callouts when required.Keep up to date with emerging technologies and product training.Essential Skills & ExperienceProven experience working on fire alarm, CCTV, intruder alarm, and access control systems (e.g., Advanced, Kentec, Apollo, Morley, Hikvision, Texecom, Paxton).Sound electrical knowledge and understanding of fault‑finding principles.Excellent understanding of relevant British Standards and NSI/BAFE codes of practice.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted client relationships.A self‑starter with a proactive attitude and good time management.Full UK driving licence (clean).Ability to work independently or as part of a close‑knit technical team.Desirable QualificationsFIA (Fire Industry Association) Units 1‑6ECS/CSCS CardIPAF, PASMA, or similar site access certificationManufacturer training on systems such as Gent, Morley, Advanced, Kentec, Hikvision, Avigilon, Paxton, Galaxy, or TexecomKnowledge of IP‑based systems and networking fundamentalsWhat We OfferCompetitive salary with commission opportunitiesCompany vehicle, fuel card, and uniformOngoing manufacturer and FIA trainingCareer progression opportunities within a growing national brand25 days holiday + bank holidaysPension scheme and employee benefitsSupportive, team‑focused environment with real autonomy in your workWho You AreYou're practical, professional, and take pride in doing the job right.
