About this opportunity

Join us as an Infrastructure Specialist in the Network Security Team, contributing to crafting infrastructure resources for internal and external services. This role combines traditional infrastructure expertise with a solid focus on automation, scripting, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. This role will be instrumental in driving service improvements, mentoring team members, and leading automation initiatives that improve operational efficiency.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the 24/7 Firewall Services Team by maintaining and improving automation scripts (primarily in Python).
  • Be responsible for the development and implementation of Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Serve as a domain guide for scripting and automation, offering training and mentorship to team members.
  • Represent the team in Network Services LAB collaboration meetings, contributing to automation strategy and planning.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation and team roadmaps for automation initiatives.
  • Promote DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Stay informed of new technologies and industry trends, sharing knowledge within the team.

What you’ll need

  • Proficient in Python; experience with Bash or Robot Framework is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience working in large enterprise environments under change control.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Agile methodologies.
  • Superb communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or team members.

And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Knowledge of regulated environments (e.g., Financial Services) is advantageous.
